Palm Beach Post Endorses Deb Adeimy in FL-23 Republican Primary: What the Endorsement Really Means

On August 4, 2026, the Palm Beach Post Editorial Board released its primary endorsements for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District. The board backed longtime Democrat Lois Frankel and, in the Republican primary, chose Deb Adeimy over Paola Branda.

That decision was not neutral. It was a clear signal from a left-leaning editorial board about which Republican it prefers — and which one it does not.

What the Palm Beach Post Actually Wrote

The Post’s endorsement of Deb Adeimy included a revealing line: she “now faces no significant MAGA challenger,” and this “clearer lane” would allow her to run a campaign that better reflects the district’s concerns. The board then noted that her opponent, Paola Branda, “didn’t participate in the Post endorsement process and thus can’t be considered for an endorsement.”

In other words, the Palm Beach Post only evaluated the candidate who showed up to seek its approval. The candidate who did not was simply dismissed. Framing the absence of a “significant MAGA challenger” as a positive for Adeimy is not subtle.

The Post’s Editorial Record Matters

An editorial board that routinely prefers Democrats is not an unbiased referee in a Republican primary. Its preferred Republican is often the one it views as less threatening to the progressive status quo.

Paola Branda Is the Candidate the Post Did Not Want to Consider

Paola Branda is a Venezuela-born educator, mother, and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. Her family fled socialism. She spent more than 15 years teaching in Palm Beach County classrooms and is running on an explicit America First platform focused on lower costs, secure borders, parental rights in education, and stopping the same failed ideas that destroyed the country she left.

Deb Adeimy, a third-time congressional candidate and former financial services executive, is the candidate the Palm Beach Post found acceptable. She is also the candidate who filed a legal challenge attempting to remove Paola Branda from the ballot over qualification issues.

The contrast is straightforward. One candidate lived under socialism and came to America to build a better life. The other is the choice of a left-leaning local paper that would rather not see a strong MAGA voice advance.

Why This Endorsement Should Not Decide the Primary

Republican primary voters in Florida’s 23rd Congressional District do not need the Palm Beach Post to select their nominee. The paper’s news reporting may be factual, but its editorial board has never pretended to be conservative. When that board endorses the Democrat incumbent and the Republican it considers the safer, less MAGA option, the signal is clear.
