Key 2026 Primary Dates

Palm Beach County currently lists these dates and deadlines for the 2026 Primary Election:

• Registration and party-change deadline: Monday, July 20, 2026. This deadline has passed.
• Vote-by-mail request deadline: Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
• Early voting: Saturday, August 8 through Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Primary Election Day: Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• Vote-by-mail return deadline: Tuesday, August 18, 2026, by 7:00 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections Main Office, or by 5:00 p.m. at a branch office or Secure Ballot Intake Station.

Florida Has a Closed Primary

Florida is a closed-primary state. A voter's political party affiliation generally determines which partisan candidates appear on the primary ballot.

Choose How You Will Vote

Palm Beach County offers three principal ways to vote: early, by mail, or at your assigned Election Day polling place.

Vote Early

Eligible registered Palm Beach County voters may vote at any open county early-voting site. For the 2026 Primary Election, the county lists early voting from August 8 through August 16, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The county instructs voters to bring current identification containing a photo and signature. If one ID does not include both, a second ID may be needed. Voters without the required identification may vote a provisional ballot, subject to official eligibility review.

Vote by Mail

Any registered voter may request a vote-by-mail ballot. The deadline to request that a Primary Election ballot be mailed is August 6, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

A returned ballot must be received by the official deadline; a postmark is not enough. Follow the ballot instructions, sign the voter certificate, return the ballot early, and use the official tracking tool. Palm Beach County says vote-by-mail ballots cannot be dropped off at an Election Day polling place.

Vote on Election Day

Primary Election Day is August 18, 2026, and polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Election Day, voters must use the polling place assigned to their precinct. Check your official voter record shortly before leaving.
